Add spacing between list items When you apply paragraph spacing to a bullet or numbered list, sometimes the spacing is only applied above or below the entire list, not in between each item within the list. I use this feature constantly so here comes the annoying part. You can resize one row or pillar by holding the mouse button down on the appropriate divider and draft to to the desired location. Paragraph spacing is a great way to add a little more space between your paragraphs. Let me show you how to change the spacing between items in a list. I like to have my list items spaced apart a little, I don’t want them all squashed together. Select Tools > Options, double-click Load/Save in the left pane, and choose Microsoft Office. They help me to summarise information and make my text stand out. Tweak OOo Writer to work with Word: Open Writer and click File > New > Text Document. Select the multiple you want, and Word applies it to the selected. In addition to double- and 1.5 line-spacing, there’s Proportional spacing, which allows you to specify a percentage of the font size, and Fixed spacing, which asks for a specific measurement to use. '2.0' is double spacing, '3.0' is triple spacing, and so on. OpenOffice Writer uses single line spacing by default, but includes several other spacing options. This opens a dropdown menu with presets for line spacing (at the top) and paragraph spacing (at the bottom). The body text style of this guide is configured to leave some space between consecutive paragraphs. Spacing between paragraphs is also normal in certain types of documents. It is customary to leave some space above heading styles so that they are separated from the text body of the previous section without the need of insert empty paragraphs. Use the Spacing section of the page to determine the amount of vertical space above and below the paragraph. The value is calculated by Writer on the basis of the font size and other parameters. Automatic: check this box to allow Writer to automatically control the indentation of the first line.A positive value increases the indentation of the first line, while a negative value makes the first line start to the left of the paragraph area. First line: enter in this box the offset (either positive or negative) of the first line of the paragraph relative to the paragraph area. Entering a negative value results in the text extending into the right margin of the page.
